Naidu Invites Modi to Open Bhogapuram Airport

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in the Vizianagaram district. The meeting, held during the monsoon session of Parliament, marks a major milestone for the state’s push to revitalize the North Andhra economic corridor.

The project, originally conceived by the Telugu Desam Party in 2014, reached completion in just two years under the current coalition leadership. State officials view the facility as a critical piece of infrastructure designed to mirror the transformative impact of Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by boosting tourism and regional industrial connectivity.

During the same session, Naidu introduced Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu to the Prime Minister. The legislator has gained attention for his daily commute to Parliament on a bicycle, a practice he maintains while wearing a signature yellow kurta and white dhoti to advocate for environmental awareness. Modi acknowledged the MP's commitment to eco-friendly transit, noting the symbolic value of such dedication in the public sphere.
