Led by YV Subba Reddy, the group presented their grievances to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. At the core of the dispute is the Andhra Pradesh CID’s recent activity, which allegedly saw the state agency file legal demands to remove over 770 posts across 150 different X accounts. The delegation explicitly named opposition figures and media personnel as the primary victims of these takedowns.

The party is now calling for a formal investigation to determine if these state-led efforts comply with the Information Technology Act of 2000 and the 2021 digital ethics code. By framing these actions as a potential violation of Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution, the YSRCP is pressuring the Union government to intervene, arguing that the existing legal apparatus is being repurposed as a tool for political suppression rather than public safety.
