Rahul Gandhi Leads Opposition Protest Over Student Crackdown

Rahul Gandhi rallied Congress leaders at Lok Kalyan Marg on Tuesday, demanding accountability from Prime Minister Narendra Modi following a forceful police crackdown on student demonstrators. The protest, targeting both the Prime Minister and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, underscored deepening political friction over the government's handling of systemic academic failures.

The demonstration outside the Prime Minister’s residence featured key party figures, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and KC Venugopal, who joined the call for resignations. Gandhi framed the police intervention as a direct assault on the collective interests of Indian families, insisting that the administration can no longer ignore the rising tide of student grievances. During the event, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh briefly engaged with Gandhi, though the atmosphere remained volatile as Delhi Police detained several opposition leaders.

Legislators Rajeev Shukla and Sandeep Dikshit intensified the pressure by accusing the government of stifling parliamentary debate regarding the NEET-UG paper leak. While the protest unfolded on the streets, Union Health Minister JP Nadda visited injured students at RML Hospital. This parallel activity highlights the government's attempt to manage the optics of a crisis that shows no signs of dissipating.
