West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari confirmed that district health officials and administrative personnel are managing rescue operations. Authorities have already made arrests in connection with the incident, and a formal investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crossing failure. Minister Gouri Sankar Ghosh is currently on the ground, overseeing the medical response and support efforts for the affected families.

Union Minister and BJP West Bengal President Sukanta Majumder joined the calls for accountability, demanding a parallel investigation by the Railways to uncover why the crossing proved fatal. While the immediate focus remains on stabilizing the injured children, local officials warn that the death toll could climb given the severity of the injuries sustained during the collision.
