Parliament is scheduled to vote on the nomination this Thursday. Given the firm majority held by Zelenskiy’s party, the appointment is expected to pass, signaling the beginning of a wider government reshuffle. The president framed the transition as a necessary step to inject fresh leadership into state administration ahead of the cold season.
Simultaneously, the administration is evaluating its security apparatus. Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov remains a central figure as the military continues its campaign of long-range drone strikes against Russian targets. Zelenskiy is currently holding high-level consultations with military command to determine whether Fedorov will retain his post or transition into a different role within the new cabinet structure.
