This initiative faces significant legal headwinds, as Apple recently filed a lawsuit alleging the theft of proprietary engineering practices and trade secrets. Apple’s complaint claims that OpenAI’s hiring of over 400 former Apple employees—including high-level executives—facilitated an unfair competitive advantage. OpenAI has formally denied these allegations, maintaining that its development process is independent.
