BRS delegation to lobby Election Commission for electoral reforms

A delegation of Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders arrives in New Delhi this Friday to press Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for a nationwide adoption of the "One Person, One Vote" principle. The meeting at 4:30 PM marks a strategic push for electoral reform by the party leadership.

The BRS team includes MPs Vaddiraju Ravichandra, Damodar Rao, and Parthasarathi Reddy, alongside former MP B Vinod Kumar and General Secretary Soma Bharat Kumar. Their proposal seeks to influence the ongoing electoral reform process currently under review by the commission. This visit follows a broader mobilization effort led by BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, who recently ordered party workers and booth-level agents to intensify their involvement in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.

Beyond technical electoral changes, the party is pivoting toward a more aggressive political stance against the state government. During a recent review at Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s residence, KTR asserted that the Congress administration in Telangana has squandered its mandate. He claimed internal surveys show a significant shift in public sentiment and accused the ruling party of using the Kaleshwaram project and Rythu Bandhu scheme controversies to deflect from broader governance failures.
