The visit focuses on restructuring grassroots engagement and addressing what party leadership describes as the failing policies of the current administration. AICC in-charge Kumari Selja emphasized that the meetings will serve to bridge communication between central command and state workers. She pointed to a growing public disillusionment, citing localized grievances and questioning the governing party's focus on religious rhetoric while internal security issues, such as temple thefts, remain unresolved.
Venugopal’s itinerary is packed with back-to-back consultations. He is slated to meet with Pradesh Congress Committee President Ganesh Godiyal, Leader of the Opposition Yashpal Arya, and key members of the Central Election Committee. Beyond the inner circle, the general secretary will convene with district and city-level presidents to assess the operational readiness of the party’s various cells and frontal organizations. For the Congress, which has suffered consecutive defeats in the last two assembly cycles, this visit represents a critical attempt to regain electoral momentum and define a clear alternative to the BJP’s long-standing hold on the state.
