Ukraine Denies Russian Claims of Kostiantynivka Capture

Conflict over the strategic town of Kostiantynivka has deepened as Ukrainian officials flatly reject Russian reports claiming the settlement has fallen. While Moscow attempts to solidify its narrative by announcing a temporary ceasefire for the retrieval of remains, the General Staff in Kyiv maintains that defensive lines remain firmly intact.

The dispute highlights the role of information warfare in the broader struggle for the Donetsk region. By proposing a six-hour ceasefire to exchange the remains of fallen soldiers, Moscow seeks to project an image of administrative control over the territory. Kyiv views these maneuvers as a tactical attempt to gain diplomatic and psychological leverage rather than a reflection of battlefield reality.

Kostiantynivka holds significant strategic value, serving as a critical node in eastern defensive architecture. As both sides intensify their efforts to sway international perception, the town remains a focal point where military engagement and propaganda efforts collide. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has emphasized that the defense of the region continues, dismissing Russian assertions of victory as part of an ongoing campaign to destabilize public confidence.
