Congress Demands Supreme Court Probe into Ram Mandir Trust Allegations

The Congress party is escalating pressure for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the Ram Mandir Trust, citing systemic financial irregularities and the partisan influence of BJP and RSS members. Spokesperson Ragini Nayak challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to move beyond internal RSS critiques and ensure genuine public accountability regarding the donations.

The demand follows mounting scrutiny over the management of funds intended for the temple project. Congress argues that internal reviews by the RSS fall short of providing the transparency required for such a significant national initiative. The party maintains that only an independent judicial oversight mechanism can effectively address the corruption allegations surrounding the trust's financial operations.

Contrasting this stance, BJP leader Vinay Katiyar acknowledged that the situation may soon reach a legal breaking point. He indicated that former trust officials Champat Rai, Gopal Rao, and Anil Mishra could face formal legal action as evidence of management irregularities continues to surface. These admissions reflect a growing acknowledgement within political circles that current internal safeguards failed to prevent the alleged misappropriation of donated resources.
