Trump Floats Bipartisan Football Reunion at the White House

During a guest appearance on Usha Vance’s podcast, Donald Trump mused on the prospect of hosting a football viewing party for his predecessors. The suggestion, framed as a gesture that would leave the press 'wild,' marks a departure from his usual rhetoric regarding Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

The proposal surfaced Friday during an episode of 'Storytime with the Second Lady,' as Trump read the children's book 'President's Play!' to illustrate executive leisure time. Upon reaching a page depicting a White House Super Bowl gathering, the former president suggested a reunion involving Obama, Biden, and the Bush family. While the idea was presented as a potential spectacle, he acknowledged the inherent tension such a meeting might create.

Beyond the hypothetical reunion, Trump offered commentary on historical figures, including a moment of uncharacteristic praise for Bill Clinton. He noted Clinton’s installation of a running track, remarking, 'He actually was a nice guy. I like Bill Clinton a lot.' He also joked about William Howard Taft’s love for baseball and hot dogs, quipping that he must monitor his own habits to avoid surpassing the record of the heaviest president in American history.
