Congress Demands Judicial Probe Into Ayodhya Temple Donation Allegations

Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat has accused the central government of shielding suspects involved in the alleged embezzlement of Ram Temple donations. By opting for a Special Investigation Team instead of filing a formal First Information Report, Bhagat argues the administration is intentionally obscuring accountability in a case of immense public significance.

The political standoff escalated as Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal labeled the incident a betrayal of national faith. Venugopal is now calling for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the scandal, which he has termed Chanda Chori. The scrutiny follows the resignations of key officials Champat Rai and Anil Mishra amid growing public outcry over the handling of temple funds.

While the Special Investigation Team has requested an additional 15 days to conduct its probe, police continue to question individuals linked to the administration of the shrine. Bhagat maintains that the current government approach reflects a profound insensitivity, asserting that only a formal judicial inquiry can address the breach of trust felt by devotees nationwide.
