Bihar Targets Graft with New Digital Oversight

Warning that there are no shortcuts to wealth in Bihar, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has signaled a zero-tolerance crackdown on economic crime. Speaking at Vigilance Awareness Week, he warned that public officials caught engaging in dishonesty face immediate legal consequences, including the prospect of incarceration for those seeking illicit gains.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Choudhary emphasized that the state’s administrative integrity remains a non-negotiable priority. To bridge the gap between citizens and the government, he pointed to the success of the 'Sahyog' portal, a digital platform designed for grievance redressal and public engagement.

Since its implementation, the system has processed 350,000 of the 400,000 applications submitted, serving as a primary mechanism for enforcing accountability. Beyond administrative reform, the government is also focused on tangible infrastructure development, marked by the recent inauguration of the Patna Metro extension. This expansion aims to modernize public transit while the administration attempts to tighten its grip on systemic corruption.
