Bribery Scandal Erupts in Tamil Nadu Over No-Confidence Vote

Three individuals face arrest following allegations of a 35-crore rupee bribery plot aimed at swaying Tamil Velan Kari (TVK) lawmakers. The scheme allegedly sought to purchase votes against a looming no-confidence motion, threatening the stability of the state government shortly after the party’s historic rise to power.

TVK Minister P. Nirmal Kumar has publicly blamed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for orchestrating the destabilization attempt. He specifically targeted former Chief Minister MK Stalin, accusing him of refusing to accept the mandate of the recent election, which effectively shattered the long-standing political duopoly of the DMK and AIADMK.

The investigation into the conspiracy centers on the actions of Thirunavukkarasu and several associates of Senthil Balaji. Authorities acted after receiving a formal complaint from MLA N. Elaiyaraja, who reported both financial inducements and direct intimidation. Investigators are now probing the depth of these political machinations as they attempt to trace the origin of the funds intended to influence the legislative vote.
