Ukraine Expands Long-Range Strikes on Russian Industrial Targets

Deep inside Russian territory, Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in Ufa, marking a significant escalation as the facility sits over 1,300 kilometers from the frontline. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy defended the operation, framing the intensified offensive as a necessary response to ongoing Russian aggression against his country.

Ukraine Expands Long-Range Strikes on Russian Industrial Targets

The campaign has moved beyond border skirmishes to target the backbone of Russia's military-industrial complex. In the Penza region, Ukrainian forces hit a facility specialized in manufacturing components for missile weaponry used in the conflict. These strikes coincide with a broader push to disrupt logistics, including the destruction of two critical bridges in the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions to sever supply lines.

Defense officials in Kyiv report that 11 oil refineries and various logistical hubs were successfully targeted throughout June. These maneuvers form part of a 40-day strategic blueprint authorized by Zelenskiy, which prioritizes the degradation of Russian military infrastructure. Beyond mainland strikes, the campaign continues to exert pressure on Crimea, where sustained attacks aim to compromise the sustainability of Russia's prolonged military operations.
