Negotiators aim to improve market access for both agricultural and non-agricultural goods by integrating value chains between the two economies. Beyond the Japanese initiative, the bloc is actively pursuing a trade agreement with Canada and eyeing future discussions with China as part of a broader strategy to diversify its global economic footprint.
