The Department of Homeland Security is currently redesigning its application architecture to prevent common errors that stall approvals. By implementing a system that mandates complete, accurate data before submission, officials intend to eliminate the administrative delays that frequently plague current workflows. Mullin confirmed that the agency is collaborating with the Department of Commerce to develop a dedicated mobile application for immigration services, a project he noted has already received direct approval from the president.
Beyond technological upgrades, the department is managing a backlog of cases from the previous administration, requiring a secondary vetting process for many applicants. Despite these internal reviews, the administration maintains that efficiency is vital to supporting the national economy. Recent data shows that H-2A agricultural visa processing has already reached a 15-day turnaround, and officials are now evaluating similar expansions for the dairy sector. While these digital tools promise to streamline pathways for international students and skilled professionals, including those from India, final eligibility remains strictly bound by existing immigration statutes.
