Kejriwal Targets Ram Mandir Trust Over Financial Transparency

Arvind Kejriwal has launched a sharp offensive against the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, accusing the organization of stonewalling the Prime Minister’s Office. The Aam Aadmi Party leader alleges that the Trust’s refusal to disclose donation records and land transaction details points to a systemic cover-up involving high-level corruption.

The tension centers on a request for a comprehensive audit of temple funds, which General Secretary Champat Rai reportedly rejected citing an ongoing probe by a Special Investigation Team. Kejriwal dismissed the current local investigation as a performative exercise, arguing that the SIT exists primarily to shield influential figures rather than uncover financial irregularities.

Beyond the refusal to comply with the PMO’s inquiry, the controversy is fueled by persistent allegations of suspicious land acquisitions in Ayodhya. By framing the official probe as a fraud, the AAP convener is casting doubt on the integrity of the Trust's leadership, demanding greater accountability for the massive influx of donations received for the temple project. The standoff underscores a widening rift over the management of the site, with opposition figures characterizing the lack of transparency as a betrayal of public trust.
