The situation centers on the family of Dr. Naseem Baloch, chairman of the Baloch National Movement. According to Wadela, relatives were coerced into participating in a staged press conference this past Monday to parrot official state narratives against the movement. This alleged intimidation tactic follows the February 2026 detention of Dr. Baloch’s father and two uncles, who remain in undisclosed custody.
Wadela characterizes these detentions as a tactical failure by the state, intended to suppress political dissent through familial pressure. He is calling on international human rights bodies to intervene, arguing that such practices violate fundamental rights and represent a systematic attempt to dismantle the Baloch national struggle through fear.
