Raut dismissed the defectors' claims that they switched sides to secure development funds, pointing to official records showing they failed to utilize their existing allocations. According to the UBT leader, the narrative of development is a thin veil for personal gain, with the true objective being control over lucrative state contracts. He further questioned how these individuals could claim to represent the ideals of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray while simultaneously allegedly making derogatory remarks about him.
The UBT camp is now shifting its focus to the grassroots level, with Uddhav Thackeray touring the state to rally party workers. Raut highlighted recent protests in Nanded as evidence of voter backlash against the defectors. He specifically challenged former MP Sanjay Dina Patil, asserting that if genuine grievances existed, they should have been aired within the party’s inner circle at Matoshree rather than through a public exit. Raut warned that he holds intelligence regarding recent financial transactions and threatened to expose further details as the political confrontation intensifies.
