Hariprasad urged party workers to shift their focus from symbolic gestures like garlands toward financial contributions and grassroots mobilization. He characterized the current political climate as a struggle for the nation’s foundational values, accusing the BJP of dismantling essential social programs and electoral integrity. Referencing the legacy of Jawaharlal Nehru and the sacrifices of the Gandhi family, he contrasted the Congress history of nation-building with what he described as the divisive tactics of his political opponents.
During his address, the new KPCC chief invoked the teachings of Kuvempu and BR Ambedkar to emphasize a vision of Karnataka as a harmonious garden of all communities. He did not shy away from historical controversies, labeling Nathuram Godse a terrorist and questioning the ideological consistency of the RSS. Hariprasad concluded by calling for vigilance, warning that the party must actively join the struggles of the oppressed to prevent the erosion of social justice. He expressed gratitude to central leadership figures, including Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, while acknowledging the collaborative support of Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and former CM Siddaramaiah.
