The capital and other urban centers have faced a relentless barrage, including a Monday assault that left ten people dead and caused significant structural damage to the historic Pechersk Lavra monastery. Violence has spread across multiple fronts: in Zaporizhzhia, Russian glide bombs killed five people and injured ten on Saturday. Additional casualties were reported in Sumy, while drone strikes and shelling in Kherson and Poltava left civilians, including three children, wounded.
Despite the mounting pressure, Kyiv maintains its strategy of targeting Russia's economic infrastructure. Ukrainian forces recently deployed long-range drones to strike an oil refinery in Tyumen, western Siberia, alongside two separate attacks on an oil facility near Moscow. These operations underscore a shift in tactics, moving the conflict deep into Russian territory to disrupt the logistics fueling the invasion.
