The student discovered the Abu Dhabi assignment shortly after downloading his admit card on Saturday, mere hours before the scheduled examination. With no passport and limited time to navigate international travel, the family contacted the National Testing Agency (NTA) helpline, leading to a frantic search for a resolution. The candidate’s father described the situation as a period of extreme distress, noting that his son had initially refused to sit for the test entirely due to the pressure.
Following public outcry and intervention by political figures, including Rahul Gandhi, the NTA verified the grievance and issued a revised admit card for the Nagpur centre. While the family expressed relief at the prompt intervention, the NTA later contested the cause of the error. In a statement posted on X, the agency claimed that web-activity logs indicated the change to the Abu Dhabi centre had been initiated through the candidate’s own registered login during the correction window. Despite the conflicting accounts regarding how the original error occurred, the student proceeded with his attempt to take the examination locally.
