Pathak emphasized that the event serves as a precursor to the global observance on June 21, noting that the collective participation in Lucknow reflects a broader commitment to the lifestyle changes advocated by the central government. Beyond the local camp, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed optimism regarding the Prime Minister’s ongoing visit to West Bengal, suggesting that the state would mirror the enthusiasm for upcoming health activities.
Since the United Nations General Assembly formalized the observance in 2014, the annual event has evolved into a global movement supported by the Ministry of AYUSH. As the initiative enters its 12th year, the focus has shifted toward the theme of "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." This year’s outreach aims to demonstrate that the practice remains a vital tool for independence and engagement across all age groups, with Indian missions coordinating local events worldwide to encourage international participation.
