Russian Shelling Kills Three Civilians in Kramatorsk

Two separate strikes tore through Kramatorsk on Friday, leaving three residents dead and six others wounded. The attacks, which targeted a high-rise residential building and a nearby car park, marked another violent escalation in the Donetsk region as Russian forces continue their grinding campaign to seize the eastern industrial heartland.

Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin confirmed the casualties via Telegram shortly after the explosions rocked the city. Emergency services were dispatched to the impact sites, where the destruction of civilian infrastructure has become a grim routine in the frontline hub.

Kramatorsk remains a primary objective for Moscow’s military planners. Positioned within the so-called fortress belt of eastern Ukraine, the city serves as a critical defensive anchor. Russia’s persistent offensive aims to secure the entire Donetsk territory through a slow, attritional advance that frequently places urban centers directly in the line of heavy artillery fire.
