Addressing reporters in Delhi alongside colleagues Arvind Sawant and Anil Desai, Raut alleged that 15 crore rupees had already been distributed as an advance to MPs who purportedly boarded charter flights from Nanded and Pune. He characterized these potential defections as a betrayal of the voters and the party leadership, which invested significant resources to secure their electoral victories. Raut insisted that those elected on a Shiv Sena ticket owe their mandate to the party and its supporters, rather than the ruling Shinde-led faction.
The political climate in Maharashtra remains volatile, with rumors of an 'Operation Tiger' aimed at further weakening Uddhav Thackeray’s camp. While no official confirmation of a breakaway exists, Raut has ramped up pressure by issuing a formal whip for an upcoming parliamentary party meeting. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Ashishrao Deshmukh dismissed the internal turmoil, suggesting instead that Raut is orchestrating a broader political merger between the Thackeray and Pawar factions into the Congress party. Deshmukh claimed that public interest in Raut’s daily statements has waned, framing the current tension as a distraction from internal instability within the UBT ranks.
