Taiwan’s push for information follows a reciprocal escalation in regional hostilities. Earlier in 2024, Beijing established its own reporting mechanism aimed at identifying and punishing individuals it labels as Taiwanese separatists. By opening this digital front, Taipei seeks to capitalize on internal societal frustrations, explicitly positioning the platform as a tool for those who disagree with Beijing’s trajectory.
