DMK Rebuts Claims of Predicting Government Collapse

Former Tamil Nadu minister Thangam Thennarasu moved to quiet political friction on Tuesday, dismissing claims that party president MK Stalin predicted the imminent downfall of the current state government. He argued that Stalin’s recent public criticism was a targeted critique of worsening law and order rather than a call for regime change.

Thennarasu clarified that the DMK had initially committed to a six-month grace period to allow the newly elected administration to find its footing. The recent remarks, he insisted, were not a roadmap for collapse but an urgent response to a series of violent incidents that have left the public increasingly uneasy. By highlighting these safety concerns, the party aimed to hold officials accountable for failing to maintain stability.

While social media discourse has amplified rumors of an early administration exit, the DMK maintains that its objective remains focused on governance oversight. Stalin’s intervention serves as a warning against rising instability, distancing the party from any formal push for the government's dissolution at this stage.
