Swiss Asset Management Talent Shifts Toward New Market Entrants

Seven new hires in nine months have propelled Zurich-based Align Private Wealth to the top of the Swiss asset management industry’s recruitment leaderboard. The firm, a recent addition to the Aquila Group, captured nearly a quarter of all executive-level personnel movements recorded across Finma-licensed institutions through September 2026.

The influx of talent highlights a broader trend favoring freshly registered firms. Align Private Wealth, which officially entered the commercial register in January, drew the majority of its recruits from SSI Wealth Management. These movements, alongside the expansion of other new entities like Orion Capital, underscore a concentration of leadership shifts; just four institutions absorbed over half of the 30 documented executive transitions this year.

Data compiled by wealthmanager.info reveals that recruitment momentum accelerated throughout the year, rising from eight moves in the first quarter to twelve by the third. While firms like Eqitron and Gamma Financials also expanded their rosters, the market remains characterized by a high degree of consolidation among newcomers. The shifts involve a specific cohort of executive management, board members, and authorized signatories, reflecting a significant realignment within the independent asset management sector.
