The investigation began when emergency services received a call regarding a nine-year-old boy who suffered a head injury from a falling dumbbell. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the child and his three siblings, aged 11, 12, and 14, living entirely without adult supervision. Paramedics transported the injured boy to a local hospital for treatment before his release.
Miller admitted to traveling to Las Vegas for a six-day work trip. While she claimed to have arranged for a daytime babysitter to assist with school preparations, she acknowledged that no adult was present overnight or during the evening hours. Following the discovery, the children were placed in the care of their father. Sheriff Chris Blackmon condemned the incident, stating that his office would aggressively pursue charges against parents who fail to provide adequate supervision.
