UBP and Taishin Bank Forge Strategic Private Banking Alliance

Signed in Taipei on October 23, 2026, a new exclusive partnership positions Swiss lender UBP as the primary global strategic advisor for Taishin Bank. The collaboration aims to overhaul Taishin’s wealth management capabilities, integrating international market insights into its existing domestic operations across Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The agreement leverages UBP’s status as a specialized Swiss private bank to bolster Taishin’s advisory services and asset allocation frameworks. By focusing on joint training and the development of sophisticated investment solutions, the firms intend to improve service delivery for both domestic and offshore clients. The partnership specifically targets the expansion of family succession advisory services, a growing priority for high-net-worth individuals in the region.

Michael Blake, head of wealth management and CEO Asia at UBP, noted the synergy between the firm’s global investment experience and Taishin’s established local footprint. Sam Lin, who leads private banking at Taishin, emphasized that the move is designed to bridge the gap between local client needs and international market access. UBP, which manages CHF 193.5 billion in assets and carries an Aa2 long-term deposit rating from Moody’s, will provide the technical infrastructure and insights necessary to scale these operations.
