The Wall Street Journal reported that the intervention followed complaints from Ukrainian military commanders about restricted connectivity. While the system is not yet operating at full, unrestricted capacity, officials confirmed a shift in performance on Thursday. The speed limitations have previously forced Ukraine to adapt its air defense and strike missions, which rely heavily on the satellite network for real-time coordination.
Despite the reported shift, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy maintained that full functionality remains elusive. He signaled an intent to raise the matter directly with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in upcoming discussions. Rubio previously distanced the White House from the issue, asserting that technical access protocols remain the exclusive purview of SpaceX and Musk rather than government mandate.
