Yash Dabas claimed the presidency with 24,576 votes, leading a successful ticket that also saw Riya Chhawdi win the Secretary post and Lakshya Raj Singh take the Joint Secretary position. Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen, a former member of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), broke the clean sweep by winning the Vice President seat with 30,615 votes. ABVP leaders framed the outcome as a generational endorsement, with Dabas declaring that Gen Z stands firmly with the organization's focus on campus infrastructure, including the installation of CCTV cameras and the introduction of security vans.
While Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the results as a rejection of anti-national agendas, the political atmosphere remains tense. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit challenged the legitimacy of the outcome, citing reports from the NSUI regarding obstacles during the campaign and potential malpractice at polling stations. The election occurred under the shadow of the Satya Niketan building collapse, which claimed the lives of five students earlier this year, fueling demands for stricter regulation of student housing and the dismantling of what organizers call the local PG mafia. Despite the controversy, the ABVP leadership maintains that their grassroots work over the last 365 days secured their victory.
