The aggressive public campaign coincides with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s formal directive for an inquiry into 388 acres of government land allegedly linked to the BRS leader. Revenue officials and cabinet ministers have been given a 30-day window to determine the ownership status of the acreage. Bhongir MP Kiran Kumar Chamala stated that any land proven to be encroached upon would be reclaimed by the state and redistributed to the Dalit community, framing the move as a reclamation of public assets.
Beyond this specific inquiry, the Chief Minister is pushing for a broader overhaul of land management. During assembly proceedings, Reddy announced the formation of a high-level committee tasked with resolving disputes surrounding the 22A prohibited land list. The government intends to roll out a new policy for urban land regularization and implement a streamlined system for simultaneous registration, aiming to clear the backlog of issues plaguing authorized layouts across the state.
