Cooper’s latest decision explicitly forbids these additions, rebuking the board for attempting to bypass his earlier order to remove the Trump branding.
Trump insists the facility is in a state of dangerous disrepair, citing a recent ceiling collapse as evidence that public safety is at risk. He argues that if his legal appeals fail, the necessary renovations will be abandoned entirely. This conflict is part of a broader effort to leave a permanent mark on Washington, D.C., through infrastructure projects, even as the center faces plummeting ticket sales and artist boycotts following his takeover of the board.
