Russia Warns Western Officials Against Travel to Ukraine

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has issued a pointed warning to Western diplomats and political figures, urging them to evaluate the personal risks of entering Ukraine. The advisory follows a recent drone strike on a railway line, a route previously utilized by high-profile international visitors.

The strike occurred only days after a train carrying former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt traversed the same section of track. Zakharova stated that Russia views railway hubs and transport infrastructure supporting military operations as legitimate targets.

This latest communication reinforces a similar directive from May, which recommended that foreign diplomatic staff evacuate Kyiv in response to Russian strikes targeting domestic military-industrial facilities. The warning highlights the narrowing margin of safety for international representatives operating within the conflict zone as regional tensions escalate.
