NATO Intercepts Unidentified Drone Over Southern Lithuania

Lithuanian crisis management officials confirmed the aircraft engaged the target near Kaunas, the nation's second-largest city. While investigators have yet to determine the drone's origin, the flight path suggests it entered Lithuanian territory directly from the Belarus border. The ambiguity surrounding the craft reflects a recurring regional struggle, as previous incursions involving both Russian and Ukrainian hardware have kept NATO air patrols on constant standby.

Ukrainian officials have previously attributed such airspace violations to aggressive Russian signal jamming, which allegedly causes their drones to veer off course. This incident follows a series of similar interceptions across the Baltic states, including drone shoot-downs over Estonia in May and Latvia throughout the summer.
