Automated systems also triggered multiple alerts concerning the descent rate and proximity to terrain immediately before the jet smashed into a vehicle carrying workers from a plane cleaning company. Five additional individuals were injured during the incident.
Investigators are now scrutinizing the 32-year-old aircraft’s maintenance history and operational records. Originally built for passenger service, the Boeing 767 was converted for cargo use in 2015. While the NTSB has yet to release a full transcript of the cockpit communications, their preliminary findings highlight clear concerns regarding the flight’s final moments. Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel confirmed the suspension of Flight 7598 operations, noting the company is cooperating with federal authorities. Representatives for 21 Air, which had served as an Amazon logistics partner since 2024, did not provide comment following the announcement.
