Telangana BJP MLA Alleges Selective Demolitions by HYDRAA

BJP legislator Alleti Maheshwar Reddy has accused the Telangana government of weaponizing the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency to target the homes of the poor. Reddy claims the administration ignores unauthorized construction by influential developers while aggressively clearing land occupied by marginalized citizens in the Musi area.

Reddy specifically pointed to the activities of Aditya Builders, alleging the firm retains structures on three acres of land near the Musi river without facing the same enforcement actions applied to residential neighborhoods. Beyond the demolitions, he challenged the government to release the results of a forensic audit that reportedly identified the illegal acquisition of 23 lakh acres linked to 13,000 separate accounts.

The legislator also voiced frustration over parliamentary conduct, charging that ruling party officials have systematically silenced opposition voices by disabling microphones during legislative sessions. While HYDRAA maintains its mandate involves critical environmental work, including the rejuvenation of 12 lakes and the strengthening of regional weather prediction infrastructure, Reddy insists the agency serves as a partisan tool. He confirmed that the BJP intends to mobilize support for displaced residents and continue demanding transparency regarding the hidden land acquisition findings.
