Following a recent trip to Washington, where he met with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Kim disclosed that the two nations have agreed upon a $200 billion ceiling for strategic investments. This allocation is governed by a strictly maintained annual cap of $20 billion. Although the framework for these funds is largely settled, the minister declined to specify which projects would receive the capital, labeling the current status of the initiative as premature for public disclosure.
Negotiators will pivot to videoconferencing this week to resolve the final points of contention. The deal represents a significant shift in industrial cooperation between the two nations, though both sides have kept the specific sectoral targets of the $350 billion package under wraps while the administrative details are hammered out.
