The proposed Regional Integration Strategy Document, or DSIR-AC, aligns with the ECCAS Medium-Term Indicative Strategic Plan for 2026–2030. By synchronizing these frameworks, the institutions intend to prioritize resilient infrastructure alongside human capital development. Nouridine Kane Dia, the Bank’s country representative in Gabon, emphasized that this approach is essential for accelerating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Between 2019 and late 2025, the Bank Group mobilized US$1.23 billion across 28 projects, focusing on transport corridors and energy interconnections. Despite this capital infusion, stakeholders acknowledged the need for more rigorous project selection and improved co-financing strategies. To address these gaps, the partners will establish a joint technical committee and mandate annual high-level dialogues. Future efforts will target the creation of regional industrial processing hubs and stronger value chains designed to lower barriers between national markets.
