EIF and BGK Channel €30 Million into Inovo.vc to Scale Polish Tech

With a fresh €30 million injection, the European Investment Fund and Poland's Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego are betting on early-stage technology through a new commitment to Inovo.vc. This deal marks the fourth major move by the Future Tech Poland initiative, which aims to anchor high-growth startups within the domestic ecosystem.

The capital, equivalent to approximately PLN 129 million, bolsters Inovo.vc’s capacity to support founders across Central and Eastern Europe. Since its inception in 2014, the firm has backed over 70 teams, focusing on sectors like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and fintech—areas where the barrier to entry often requires significant, sustained institutional support.

Scaling the Local Venture Capital Market

Future Tech Poland operates as a fund-of-funds, a structure designed to bypass the limitations of individual startup investments by empowering experienced managers to allocate capital. With BGK having committed PLN 1 billion to the program, the goal is to create a self-sustaining cycle where local funds provide the runway necessary for startups to compete internationally without immediate reliance on foreign capital.

EIF Chief Executive Marjut Falkstedt noted that the partnership leverages Inovo.vc’s decade of experience to strengthen the broader innovation economy. For BGK, the strategy is equally pragmatic: the bank intends to deploy over 40% of the program's total allocation by the end of the year. Management board member Jarosław Dąbrowski confirmed that additional commitments are already in the pipeline as the initiative pushes to deepen the local venture capital landscape through 2026. By increasing the depth of domestic funds, these institutions hope to ensure that Poland’s most promising tech firms remain competitive on a global scale.
