Protester Baha Linda has pivoted the movement toward national political scrutiny, calling on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to personally visit the site. Linda demanded that Gandhi withdraw support from the state government, citing the police lathi charge against demonstrators as a point of no return. Beyond the immediate recruitment crisis, the students have expanded their platform to include allegations of systemic favoritism toward outsiders in government hiring and contentious land sales.
While representatives from the Chief Minister’s office have opened channels for dialogue, the atmosphere on the ground remains hostile. Alok Mehta, a prominent voice among the strikers, dismissed the current talks as insufficient, noting that the government has yet to address the core demands fueling the 24-day stalemate. Local political figures Rajesh Thakur and Pratul Shah Deo have urged both sides to maintain open lines of communication, though the students’ resolve indicates that skepticism toward official promises is currently the dominant sentiment at the stadium.
