Bajwa specifically questioned the treatment of former IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, who resigned from service to become the AAP’s face for justice in the Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura investigations. The party had once pledged that a change in leadership would bring perpetrators to account within 24 hours, yet the legal trajectory has stalled.
Beyond the lack of convictions, Bajwa expressed deep concern over the procedural shift in the judiciary. He noted that multiple trials concerning the desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib and the subsequent police firings have been moved to courts outside Punjab. This transfer of cases, according to the Congress leader, signals a profound breakdown in the state's ability to handle its most sensitive legal proceedings. Bajwa confirmed that he intends to challenge the government on these lapses during the upcoming session of the Punjab Assembly.
