JP Nadda Tours Flood-Ravaged Northeast to Oversee Relief Efforts

Nadda’s itinerary follows visits to Nagaland’s Mon district and Assam’s Sivasagar, where he met with families displaced by landslides and flooding. In Nagaland, the minister spent time at the Konyak Union Office, offering condolences to those who lost loved ones and commending local rescue teams and civil society groups for their rapid mobilization. He emphasized that the central government remains fully engaged in supporting the region’s rehabilitation.

During his stop in Assam, Nadda joined Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to evaluate infrastructure damage and oversee the distribution of state and federal aid. He pledged that federal teams would maintain a presence to ensure financial assistance reaches affected households without bureaucratic delay. The minister’s assessment in Yazali today will focus specifically on the local health situation and the adequacy of current medical resources in the flood-stricken town.
