Sharma argued that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is prioritizing the suppression of democratic voices over addressing systemic issues like unemployment and corruption. According to the MLA, the state government is rattled by a forthcoming BJP charge sheet and is responding with a wave of fabricated cases. He maintained that these tactics will not intimidate the party, which remains committed to challenging the current administration's policies.
This rhetoric followed a major mobilization in Shimla, where thousands of BJP workers marched to Oak Over, the Chief Minister's official residence. Led by former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and state party president Dr. Rajeev Bindal, the protest targeted the government over alleged administrative misuse and the erosion of law and order. Demonstrators staged a sit-in at the site, labeling the government's approach a murder of democracy while vowing to continue their statewide agitation.
