Congress faces backlash over 'mute doll' jibe at Sunetra Pawar

Amruta Fadnavis defended the Deputy CM’s record, highlighting her role in managing both household affairs and agricultural interests, which she argued enabled her husband’s political career. She maintained that such language has no place in a progressive state like Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, NCP MLA Sana Malik noted the irony of the situation, suggesting that Congress has abandoned its own ideological history, pointing out that similar derogatory labels were once used against Indira Gandhi. While the Congress party continues to face protests outside its Mumbai office, Sunetra Pawar has opted for a measured response, stating she will address the matter at an appropriate time.
