Rahul Gandhi faces demand for proof over Sainik School claims

The dispute centers on the government’s 2022 initiative to establish 100 new Sainik Schools through a public-private partnership model. Currently, 70 of these institutions are managed by various non-governmental organizations, including Vidya Bharati and Saraswati Sishu Mandir. BJP representative Sudhanshu Trivedi questioned the basis of Gandhi's claims during the proceedings, prompting the chairman to commit to an examination of the entities involved in the partnership framework.

Beyond the political friction, the committee addressed routine oversight tasks, including the review of Action Taken Reports regarding military education institutions like the Rashtriya Indian Military College. Representatives from the Ministry of Defence also testified on the integration of MSMEs into the modernization of public sector undertakings. Gandhi departed the meeting before its conclusion to attend a scheduled book launch.
