Ukrainian Drone Wave Targets Russian Infrastructure and Retail Hubs

In the Belgorod border region, acting governor Alexander Shuvayev confirmed the death of one child after a drone detonated near a playground, injuring two others. Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia's commissioner for children's rights, condemned the strike as a deliberate act against civilians. Meanwhile, in the Udmurtia region, officials reported three fatalities, with another three killed in separate strikes across Belgorod.

Strategic economic targets faced significant pressure as Ukrainian forces struck a Wildberries warehouse in Samara, roughly 800 kilometers from the front lines. This marks the latest in a series of over a dozen attacks on the retail giant since mid-July, aimed at destabilizing Russia's consumer economy. Concurrently, regional governor Roman Busargin reported two deaths in Engels, where residential infrastructure sustained heavy damage.

Ukraine’s military command confirmed the offensive, claiming successful strikes on the Saratov oil refinery and the Engels airbase, alongside an oil depot in the Kaluga region. While Russian air defenses reported downing 635 drones, industrial sites in Ufa were also targeted. In retaliation, Russian forces launched glide bombs against Zaporizhzhia, killing one person and injuring 21, while reporting strikes on military vessels in Mykolaiv and the Black Sea.
