The second cohort of the Pan-African Leadership Programme convenes from August 28 to 30, 2026, at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco. These 50 fellows will engage in collaborative sessions aimed at refining economic and social policy design. The curriculum focuses on three core pillars: state modernization, public service efficiency, and strengthening cooperation between governments and the private sector.
Expert guidance for this year’s participants comes from figures including former Tunisian head of government Mehdi Jomaa, SouthBridge Group’s Donald Kaberuka, and former Colombian Finance Minister Mauricio Cardenas. These mentors will address the practical trade-offs of reform and the necessity of regional cooperation.
Digital public infrastructure remains the program's strategic priority. A new white paper, developed with BCG, advocates for a transition from simple technology consumption to active value creation. It urges African states to move beyond fragmented efforts by pooling investments into shared, interoperable architectures. By fostering digital identity and secure data exchange, the initiative aims to increase the digital economy's contribution to Africa’s GDP, which currently lags at 5% compared to the 15% global average. Amir Ben Yahmed, President of the Africa CEO Forum, emphasized that the program is designed to move beyond ambition toward execution, positioning administrative leaders as the primary drivers of continental sovereignty.
